Swimming Mallard Drake Duck
The colouring of a mallard drake is instantly recognisable - it's what most people would picture if they were asked to imagine a duck. The green head with its yellow beak is very striking.
The mallard drake pictured here was swimming calmly across a very small pond in Harrogate - on the other side of the pond it joined up with some fellow ducks who were having a snooze.
