Crumbling Old Bricks and Mortar
Some of the bricks in this wall are centuries old, and the mortar holding them together contains both gravel and straw to hold it together - not a modern construction! With this close up we can see the very rough surface of some of these bricks, and where over the years they have broken and crumbled.
